Steve Smith: Biography

Forced-study education was never his bag, but he fell out of college at nineteen with 2 A'Levels and only 4 O'Levels. An inability to revise put paid to his ambitions to become a journalist. He moved into the information technology arena shortly afterwards, where he remains still. Having worked for some major companies in the city, he considers himself to have done reasonably well.

Married in 1993 to Rachel, he has two children: Michael, born 1997 and Georgina (2001).

In November 2001, having thought about it for a long while, he loaded Word onto his laptop and began to write.

Much of his work could be described as fast-paced, urban stories about real people. He would like to write up-lifting endings but his cynical outlook and fascination with the grime in society pulls at him. One day, he hopes this might change.
